Sihanoukville: Deputy Governor of Sihanoukville, Mr. Long Dimanche, and three provincial delegates attend the 44th General Assembly of the Association Internationale des Maires Francophones (AIMF) in Lausanne, Switzerland.
At this annual General Assembly, Sihanoukville Province unanimously agreed to join as a full member after more than two years of mediation.
The Deputy Governor emphasized that joining the Global and Regional Network of the International Association will bring many benefits to Sihanoukville by diversifying diplomatic cooperation at the grassroots level, socio-economic, sharing experiences for challenges. Basic level of investment Tourism, etc.
In addition, this AIMF membership provides many benefits to Cambodia and Sihanoukville, in general and separately, such as: training in urban planning, environmental management, climate change response and prevention. And disaster response as well as access to assistance.
Cambodia already has four capitals and provinces that are already members of the AIMF: Phnom Penh, Siem Reap, Battambang and Kampot, all of which have established and maintained good relations with regional and global network members. As well as gaining knowledge, experience and implementing cooperation projects as part of ensuring sustainable urban development.
