The Stargazer M4 Reusable Hypersonic aircraft

The Stargazer M4 will take off from major airports using jet engines. Once clear of urban areas, its rocket engine will smoothly accelerate the aircraft to 170,000 feet and Mach 4, covering 5,000 miles in just two hours. Think San Francisco to Japan or Houston to London—all in under two hours.

The Venus Stargazer M4 is the first reusable hypersonic aircraft. No engine has made two-hour global travel affordable before.

Venus’ advanced propulsion system is designed to power high-speed drones and aircraft, allowing them to travel great distances at high altitudes and reach high-Mach speeds with exceptional efficiency.

The VDR2 engine merges the powerful thrust of the Rotating Detonation Rocket Engine (RDRE) with the fuel-efficient cruise capabilities of a Ramjet. This innovative engine operates seamlessly from takeoff to speeds of up to Mach 6, with a sleek, low-drag airflow design and no need for complex mechanical parts.

Speaking at Up.Summit, Dr. Andrew Duggleby unveiled the engine and said:

“This engine makes the hypersonic economy a reality. We are excited to partner with Velontra to achieve this revolution in high speed flight, given their expertise in high-speed air combustion.”
